Recently a thread was opened up pertaining to a new publication. A disparaging remark was made about the author. As a result, I took down the thread. I have only done this a couple of times in the past 10 years. I have seen the prototype of the book in question and I believe it represents the most comprehensive collection of photographs of DeTomaso race cars ever assembled in one place. Since PI has a large archive here already, our collection looks small in comparison. Some people have been critical of the author before, but I recommend nobody judge the book or the work that went into it until it is read. There are hundreds of authors out there who write about Ferraris, Maserati and Lambos, but almost nobody writes about Panteras, especially the race cars, which is an area that is clouded with mystery and ignorance. This new book will shed important light on the DeTomaso race cars and if somebody can write a better book on the topic, we are here to help and to get the book in the hands of enthusiasts.
As a general comment, the moderators who monitor these Forums are going to prune any postings that are defamatory, even in the slightest. We believe in free speech, however, some people cannot defend themselves in this type of Forum from accusations that are posted, especially by unknown persons. I hope you will understand and not think my actions are abusive or cause a chilling effect. Respectfully, Dave Adler, Director

Dave,
I read the post your speaking about, and don't believe you owe any explanation for it being removed. As far as the author of the post, it's pretty chicken shit to make a new profile to hide your identities (user:ghost, post:1) if you want to defame a member of the board, have the guts to show the board who you are.
Just my 2 cents
Regards
Mark
I fully understand, that the topic was taken down.- What i don't understand is, that the topic wasn't taken down earlier. First Olzcyk defamed another member. That's fact. Another fact is, that he has no really reputation with DeTomaso in Europe. Before the dead of Mr.DeTomaso he was absolutely unknown in the DeTomaso community. My personal experiance with him is, that he was talking really bad about DeTomaso when i met him at Pagani factory about four or five years ago. It's great to have another book about DeTomaso, but does it make the author more serious?

Thank you for your input everybody. As a point of clarification, if you post on this BB, you will leave an IP address or what I call a "footprint". The person posting used the screen name "Ghost." The party, who shall remain nameless, is from Germany and has left his name and email address. This individual is not Mr. Ben Tyer or posing as Ben Tyer. Mr. Tyer has indicated to me that whomever this individual is, they are acting on their own accord and not under his direction.
If this BB is to move forward, we have to remain firm on personal attacks or disparaging information. As for the new Pantera book, please, lets judge it on its content. When the book is read and reviewed, it is fair comment to exptress one's opinions of it on this Forum. I am closing this thread now. Respectfully, Dave Adler
