I dont believe if it's overpriced , I see the regular aircleaners go for the same price.
it is blasted and only the flat top shield is missing. the 2 snorkels are pop rivet, I can demount this to save shipping cost.on the back there are fittings for the vacuum and feul lines and trottle cable and e electrick connector.Maybe it needs no top shield ,but only a squere filter?

WPL,

I'll chime and say haggling over a $250 part for a $125K car seems a little harsh. The $250 asking seems an absolute bargain for what is a 1 of 29 piece, never to be reproduced. IMO the fact that someone has one and is willing to sell it is worth the $250 alone no matter condition.

As the future prices of the 5S cars climbs so will the price of original parts as IMO originality will be key to realizing full potential. I'm going to start stashing parts now and hang on to anything I have, in fact I'd give Simon $250 for the air cleaner without hesitation!

I can still have all of the parts and cut aluminum skins to build a new box but the time required is extensive. The pictured blasted box is missing alit of the parts invcluding the vacuum harness, lid and some other internal controls. The box was needed for evap emissions. Original or new, a complete air box in working condition would be 1000.00 or more. Based on the pictures, repairing this one may be close to 1000.00 in parts and time. The snorkles have trap doors that would not fair well by sand blasting, sorry.

Hello Julian; You are a welcome breeze of reason.
Do the math...1% of 125,000.00 is $1,250.00..a 1/4 of $1,250.00 is approximately $312.50...Just BUY the DAMN part for $250.00 & consider yourself fortunate!!!...Mark
