Makes you wonder how much is true on this "non scripted" reality show. But in the end I'm not knocking it. How lucky we as Pantera owners are getting so much exposure for our beloved cars! Interesting Richard still has the white one with the torbo v6. Is the price too high, or does he just like it that much? Wonder if he still has the Ring bros one he stuck I the museum? Anyway if I remember right he paid about 30k for the white one. And now Dennis gets 125k for yes a nicer car. But four times as nice? Perhaps just a fleesing of a nascar star with money.
C.R. your so right! Our cars are soooo under priced. I can't say after the "Street Outlaws" fiasco that I find Richard honest, but even if he has a non-magnetic personality, he is doing us all a favor. I hope our car wins!!!!
After watching a number of these TV car repair/mod shows, I don't think I would want to buy a car from any of them.

Yes, great entertainment and exposure for the car! These shows are NEVER unscripted, everything is carefully edited by the producers. It is curious that you never hear mention of DeTomaso when talking about Panteras. It's always "Ford Pantera"
Also, the purchase negotiation was clearly scripted. Who knows what the actual price was or what the arrangement was. Dennis also got some valuable exposure too.

I have 2nd hand knowledge of the Ford GT they did last year...There are NO surprises (all well planned).
Absolutely scripted ... All of them American Pickers included. I was a P.A./2ndSCA way back in another life... Everything carefully documented, photographed and pre-set/re-set.... (its supposed to be anyway..lol..)
The hardest one for me to watch from a scripted aspect is "What's in the Barn" where they find old motorcycles. As they look for parts they mention parts in the loft as if he didn't know. When climbing the stairs there's already a camera man upstairs. "Click" change the channel.
Watch again latter and he can't get into a barn as he has no keys. Camera man inside barn showing him trying to unlock door.
Haven't watched it since.
From a personality standpoint, i can't watch grave yard cars. I wouldn't want to be in the same room as that guy much less watch him on TV.

Agreed. The guy may be a walking Mopar encyclopedia but he is an absolute jerk.
I used to watch Wheeler Dealers a little. Ed China (Who is remarkably tall) left when Velocity bought them out. According to Ed, Velocity did not want to see as much work done to cars because of production cost. I haven't watched that show since either.
I expect Ed China to come out with another show at some point.
I would really like to see a show where they visit individuals building cars who do their own work. With a show such as this, over time, they could go back and check on such individuals progress. There is such a variety of what people do and how they do it. This would be the stuff you never see at a car show.

Enjoyed that one too. Edd was just the gearhead next door. Pretty talented guy. (Much like yourself!). Ant, the new guy, isn't bad, but liked Edd much better.

The fact that all these car shows are so popular is a testament to the thousands of American gear heads!
Just make sure you have plenty of time if you are going to go down a Project Binky HOLE!
