We have a fantastic event coming up in October that I encourage all to participate in!.. here is a little excerpt..
Dear Italian Car Enthusiasts,
This years 3rd Annual AutoItalia at Portofino will occur on October 20, 2001 at the Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal Studios Escape in Orlando, Florida and the show hours will be 10am thru 5pm. With the venue of the Portofino Bay Hotel, entrants, sponsors and spectators are placed in the world famous city of Portofino, Italy. The show is presented on the waterfront courtyard surrounding the Portofino Bay harbor. The hotel is connected to Universal Studios Florida, Universal Studios Islands of Adventure theme parks and the Universal Studios City Walk entertainment complex.
The purpose of AutoItalia is to put on an event that is fun for everyone involved. It is not a Concours dElegance but we do try to provide show quality cars for the event. We hope that this years event will be the largest and most successful that we have done. Our goal this year is 150 cars and no less than 25 displaying vendors. AutoItalia at Portofino has been very successful in establishing itself as one of the premier automobile shows in the Southeast United States. AutoItalia was chosen be the first public event for the grand opening of the Portofino Bay Hotel and we have been the first public presentation of the Ferrari 550 Maranello, 360 Modena and the Lamborghini Diablo VTs in Central Florida.
Commitments to this years event, so far, is the Italian car collection of Brumos Porsche that includes a 1952 Maserati A6GCS and 1960 Maserati Tipo 61 "Birdcage. Both of these cars are former Pebble Beach and Amelia Island Concours dElegance class winners. Other automobiles entered include 1995 De Tomaso Guara, 1967 Bizzarrini P538, 1947 Cisitalia D-46 Monoposto, 1953 Ferrari 166 MM as well as all other Italian marques. AutoItalia will also be celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the De Tomaso Pantera. Special guests will include Piero Rivolta of Iso.
The Pirelli Tire Corporation is the presenting sponsor of this years event. Additional sponsors of this years event, so far, include Alfa Romeo Inc., AR Ricambi, Cavallino, Inc., Exotic Car Transport, Ferrari of Central Florida, International Auto Parts, Meguiars, Parish Heacock Insurance, Ultimate Motor Works, and the Rivolta Group. Exotic Car Transport has agreed to assist any AutoItalia exhibitors with transportation services. Contact Mr. Tom Meunier at 1(800) 766-8797 or http://www.exoticcartransport for information.
AutoItalia at Portofino is presented by the Alfa Romeo Club of Central Florida and is a nonprofit event. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to a designated charity in the name of AutoItalia and our sponsors.
