First, look to see HOW they loosened the motor mounts (which is unnecessary to pull the transaxle, by the way). There are 3 bolts that go into the block on each side, and there is a long bolt that ties the two halves of each motormount assembly together. It's pretty easy to snap off the block bolts, and if the long bolts were originally put in upside-down (from the bottom with the nut on top), and the nut came loose because they then could not get the cotter pin through the drilled hole in the bolt end, the bolt then drops onto the ground & is lost. Either of these results in the engine being loose, held only by the transaxle mounts & gravity. Or, if they reinstalled the transaxle with the trans-mount shims in wrong, the whole powertrain would be biased toward the front, not the back, resulting in lots of stuff hitting the steel front cover. Not much extra room there! FYI, ALL the shims should be in the front of the trans mounts, to force the powertrain backwards the max amount.
