Jeff I agree 99%. I laugh at most cars with a wing yet I ain't ready to let mine go LOL. I really don't like most of the wheels people are putting on Pantera's yet mine are not exactly what I would have picked either. This is so true of the Chip Fuse cars too. I love what he does with the cars and hate almost all his wheels. If you look at all the high dollar cars they all had period correct wheels and corect proportioned whees for the car.

Question. Do we really need to educate anyone? I think we got a pretty good deal going.

Gary
George I agree except for one thing. These guys are not work a day average joes like you and me. The BJ crowd is multi-millionaires only. Commoners need not apply. They are mostley 65 years old or older and yeah a lot of them got rich by pinching pennies till they screamed. But now that got multi-millions and not all that much time left. SO they figure, "Ah what the hell, I don't care what it costs, I always wanted one." So they wind up bidding millions of bucks for a 69 Chevelle. We think it is stupid because we have to work our whole lives and will never earn that much the whole time. These guys it is chump change. Once you figure out that you don't have forever to live and enjoy things, it gets real easy to cut loose and party like there is no tommorrow.
I believe a Pantera is more valuable than an earlier Ferrari 308. I have seen the Pantera in photos from Scottsdale thanks to Robert Shewchuk and it didn't look particularly exciting. The seller should have brought over Tom Tjaarda to address the audience like Bobby Allison did. He is our best spokesperson currently. I also wonder if this Pantera was "bought back" by its owner on any of the prior auctions? I don't think I would recommend an auction as a place to sell your car unless time is a factor or you enjoy the excitement of an auction. Incidentally, PI Member Scott Black is involved with the marketing and PR for the B-J Auction. I think he has done a tremendous job, don't you? Finally, I saw several hot rods such as the "Avenger" and "Loaded" cross the block on Saturday night. They sold for what I believe are very low prices and both are very special compared to a 'Cuda or Chevelle.

When you get that many cars and that kind of enrgy you get cars over sold and undersold. I really thought the 2mil dollar Cuda compared to the Daytona winged racer was an upset. Not that that wasn't a lot of money for the winged racer but I felt it had a lot more importance then the Cuda. And the concept cars. The second one went for about 10% of the first. That seemed way off. I know the significance of the other but not with that much difference.

Actually that seems cheap for a Cuda today. I laugh and cry remembering the day long ago graduating from high school begging my dad for a $3,000 Cuda as a graduation present. Of course back then, the reply from the dad was "its too expensive".
