Carb problems ? ? ? | The De Tomaso Forums

My car ran great on Saturday to the Temecula Rod Run but after exiting the freeway on the return trip home, the idle rpm is at 2500 ! ! ! I have checked all connections and looked hard for vacuum leaks with the hose connections, and to my surprise, everything looks and checks out fine. The carb is a 600 cfm Holley. Help ! ! !

Al,
Are you sure that your throttle cable is completely returning? Possible the return spring is broken or just weak from time.

My choke linkage sticks open a little from time to time. May need some WD-40.

After extensive searching and manipulation, I found that the vacuum hose to the distributor was not connected properly. I'm back on the road ! ! !
