Is there any "Coast to Coast" Pantera events? It would be neat to have an anual Coast to coast event. I was thinking that the event could start on one coast and have a set route to where it could take 7-10 days to get across the USA. Cars would not need to travel the entire distance but wrather meet up and travel in the caravan in their area. Groups could meet up and travel as far as they like. Route could be set up through some nice parts of the country and there could be a stop at a track here or there. Yes? No?

The hot rod crowd has an annual organized event doing that every year. They get local news coverage and a parade route with reserved parking and security. Recommend Route 66 as part of the event. Right past me, of course. I'd go East for a few days for fun. Probably get one of the vendors to participate, with their parts truck...well stocked.
my 2 cents,

the American Motorcyclist Association offers and arranges tours each driving season for its members, with different routes & destinations, exploring different regions of our great country, each year to choose from. A program like that takes a dedicated staff to organize and direct. Somebody from the AMA leads each tour. They charge a decent sum of money for each participant, and the AMA makes money on the whole program. This is far more involved than a "caravan" to Vegas or Carson City.

I wonder if there would be enough interest among Pantera owners to make such an endeavor financially profitable for PI or POCA?

I for one would enjoy such a "Pantera Tour". I'd like to take Jim up on his offer for the pool party. Hang out with Ron on the pool side , tell stories, crack jokes and sip buttery nipples. Jim, you have Baileys & butterscotch schnaaps?

George
Why don't we do this adlib. Lets get the basics set, then see who follows along. If something develops, maybe we could make it more involved next year.

1st, let's pick a time....Next year. Preferably some time when it's not to hot/cold. Spring/fall. And a time when it doesn't conflict with anything. If Vegas is in the spring, what about the fall?

2nd. If everyone interested (by interested I mean interested in traveling on at least one of the daily journeys) I will keep a list of locations, pull out a map and come up with some routes.

I will put together 5-10 routes based on the location of who is willing to go (and excelent local atractions, roads or routes) and set up a vote. I will let everyone who is willing to participate in at least one day of traveling vote for the best route.

I need a good date (I can present the best dates listed for a vote) and I need a list of interested parties. If interest grows I will set a time table for each vote.

What do you think?
...I 'Love' the SouthWest and Deserts! I have been thinking of redoing a trip I took years ago, back in 1971, when I first got back from 'The Land of the 'Little People'. A buddy of mine and I drove My (just purchased, pre-owned) Ford '67 Mustang GTA Fastback with the FE 390 C.I. Engine. We drove down to Santa Monica, and started our journey at the pier where Route 66 Begins. We followed the 'Old' highway East all the way to the Chicago Loop where it ends, at the time, I had a Girlfriend in 'Chi-Town'. What an unforgetable trip we had, the stories would fill a book. I'am FOR any tour you want to put together, a 'Route 66 Revisited' Run, would NOT be a bad theme! Pick it up YOUR Idea and Go with it! If I can be of any help, with anything, let Me know...
Coz, I agree with GP, we need to meet up at your place, real soon. George can drive in from CA and I'll drive over from the other direction in NM. We'll hang with you, take this idea and begin the planning phase. Others will join in, I'm certain. But in the beginning, I'd prefer if it's just us three, so we can have all those "buttery nipples" for ourselves. Us three around your pool and as many "buttery nipples" as your pool area and your neighborhood parking availability can accomodate. Leadership has it's priveleges, so we should be able to hoard the "buttery nipples" for ourselves, in my estimation, at least in the beginning. Ah, the perks and priveleges life offers.... Pantera's and "buttery nipples". Pantera owners have refined and developed the concept of "chick magnets" to the next level.

Thus, I believe I'm soliciting an invitation for George and myself to be invited over. Coz, you inviting us over? A little tech session and strategy development may make the summer on to remember, much more fun!
Ron, you crack me up! Big Grin

I was at a wedding reception once, open bar, sitting at the table with all the seniors (alas, people my age & older). I taught the bar tender how to make a buttery nipple, took it back to the table with me. Lady sitting next to me asked what I was drinking, I explained & let her sample. She went to the bar & got herself one. Well, the fellow on my other side also inquired about my drink, he sampled & then proceeded to the bar for his own buttery nipple. This went on & on. It wasn't too long before the whole senior table was enjoying buttery nipples, about 20 people. The seniors loosened up & showed the kids how to have fun. Conversations became lively & louder. Some decided it was time to dance. Everybody went for at least a second round of buttery nipples. I just leaned back & enjoyed the moment, and had several more buttery nipples, thank god for open bars.

Later my friends

George Cool
Let's get over to Coz's pool ASAP, George! Coz, I'm goona come over with or without George. GP, you coming? Coz gave me an open invitation two years ago, and I'm negligent for not going. I owe the duty of a good time to myself and I'm negligent for not going. It's time!

Great story GP! Your Pantera road worthy and ready for a short road trip?
