I'll step up. I actually like the look of the car. Not only that. I think the design is cleaner than the Tjaarda designed convertible penned and built a few years ago. I see the lines on this car being very clean and simple, while Toms were bulbous and heavy. I'd like to own it if the chassis is reinforced effectively.

I've heard criticism of the structural execution on one of the Forums. However, I don't know if the critic had actually ever see the car or exercising internet bravado hiding behind his internet name.

I think it would be fun driving around in an open top Pantera. Definitely, not for the track. Although, few convertibles are.
JTpantera,

I would have to agree with you as well. Maybe there are small details that I can nitpick like the louver treatment to the rear decklid, I would have to wholeheartedly agree that the overall design is clean and pleasing to my eye. I have not seen the car in person so I wonder about the structure of the car. I have a hemicuda convertible, so you want to talk about weakness of a convertible, that would be it.

As such, yes, I do like the design elements of the car; very clean looking except for my nitpicks, and that's my problem only. I'll put it another way, yes, the original design is hard to beat, but as far as convertibles go, this is the best one that is most pleasing to my eyes and if I was in the market, this is what I would go after -- I'd just be concerned about the structure, but as far as design, best I've seen.

To the rest of you guys out there, where's the love?????

It is not that it looks terrible as a convertible.
I think the original lines in the rear quarter are too high. where it curves up at the rear quarter window should be more gradual as a convertible. Maybe cut a little lower then brought into the original lines. Lot of extra sheet metal work required but IMO would give the car the best look.
I like the lines on the car Java posted (anybody know what that is)
