Well I installed a complete factory Duraspark 2 ingnition complete for about 400 dollars.

If I was building from scratch this is how I would go, also. Can initially be easily found in junkyards, eBay or parts houses. Then, out on the road - DRIVE IT!! - you will not be stuck waiting for one day UPS on your Mallory or Accel part not to be found locally in BFEgypt.

accobra - can you post the part numbers/etc for the Board? thanks,

Larry
Yes, I have that distributor in the car now (small cap version). I had a Duraspark with Crane Hi6R ign box and coil. The Duraspark was recurved etc by Performance Distributors in Memphis. It was great now that I look back. I thought the Crane may be better in some way so I bought it. The Crane programable curve distributor is pretty neat but I dont think it was $319.00 well spent. The Duraspark is just fine and I dont note any difference. If you're not really looking for all the HP you can and your car runs good stick with what you got.
The duraspark ignition I used in my superstock comet for years. Never had a problem with it and it went from motor to motor. Always reliable and performed like a champ. No adjustments except lighter springs, simple is better. I will gather the numbers tommorrow and post them. The distributor is a rebuit 460ci unit. Stock cap, rotor, coil, module box, and the plug in connectors. Looks stock and neat.
