lloyd,
is there anything that can be done with the dash 1 to make it more freeway friendly...at 80 mph i am turning about 4000 rpm. I would like the rpm's to be a bit lower, the other club cars with the dash 2 seem to run just above 3000 rpm at the same speed. I also hear that there are just about no parts available for the dash 1 now.

thanks for your comments.

[I had that same problem but it was my tire size that changed it.I was running yokohama 345/35x15 that measured about 24" tall.I was running 4000 rpm at 80 mph.I have the standard 4:22 gear ratio.I swithed to 345/35 x 18 michelin pilots that measure @ 26 1/2" tall.i now run at 3200 rpm at 80mph.

I used to have the same situation with my Dash 1. I went to RBT and had them install a high gear 5th. The revs are down considerably, at 80, I believe I am around 2800 RPM. With my old, less HP motor, my car was clocked at 169 MPH in the Road & Track test on an oval with Steve Millen driving. Steve felt the body work, fat fenders, large wing and front spoiler were slowing the car down. In any event, I have had this set-up for around 10 or more years and haven't had a problem with it. DAve!
