I bought a few of the Factory ones before it closed, and they cost me over $65 each (plus ship, tax etc...). I'm sure the aftermarket ones are good too, I'd bet Hall charges close to the factory price anyway. I've collected several versions of these, in both metal and plastic. One in a FORD box (Powered By FORD) was plastic, as were most of the original ones I have seen.
$10 seems cheap!
Well it seems to be moving right along huh?

I just added this due to the comments here: "I was just made aware that there have been both plastic and metal versions of this item available. The piece I am selling is chrome plated and metal."

Thanks, good luck to those bidding.
I received an e-mail, thru eBay from someone that saw my bid on this item, and wanted to let me know that Wilkinson sells a similar item for <$14. I would bet he also sent the same note to f1boat, the other bidder.

A while ago, I contacted all the various vendors wih a list of items I need for my (dad's) car, which has been stored for 20+ years. I checked all the websites, compared prices, and contacted most of the vendors to confirm they had the item in stock. What I learned was that the prices listed on the websites are WRONG. In almost -every- case the price via phone was higher, MUCH higher.
I had to start price comparing all over again. When I visited each vendor in person to actually BUY at the phone price (typically with in 24 hours) the price was even higher.

I think some vendors use the web posted prices as false advertising, to get you to place an order, where you are hit with true price shock.
Other vendors just don't bother updating their website prices. Since the factory closed I've noticed things cost more. Makes sense too.

Some vendors are better than others, some REAL BAD.

As much as I appreciate the price heads up, I think the tipstor was miss informed because he believed the website price. In reality he did the seller an in-justice.

I suggest anyone shop around, perhaps insisting they get the web advertized price. I tried this, but it didn't work.
Dave,

I know what you mean. I was quoted a high price for an ignition key. When I got the receipt with the key, both the price of the key AND the shipping had gone up quite a bit! When I called them, the response was, "I made a mistake, send the key back if you want, but you're paying shipping both ways." The total amount of money didn't warrant that, plus I needed the key. It still pissed me off, just the same.

Michael
