detom break in oil

Nope, not yet. I am supposed to have driven it 500 miles first and I have driven it 430 miles so far. One more weekend of driving and I will about have it.

Keep driving... I built a vette 350 and put sythetik oil in too soon. The motor never did break in and always used oil. It ran like a scalded dog but was followed by a cloud. You may want to just use a good non sythethic for a couple of changes before you go full syn. I had a 71 240 back in the day and after a rebuild and break in used Zonex, it was one of the early syhns. I went 10g and it never got dirty. amazing. I notice you are in Tenn. I was @ the spring rod run in Gltbrg..I was the only Pantera. I have some kin in Hot Springs NC.We travel to Asheville now and again, Love those mountian roads. I belive you are just north of me. Thanks for the advice. I think now maybe my first change will be good old Castorol 50 W. I don't want to screw up the motor. My wife would kill me. I was thinking of maybe entering that show they are going to have in Cherokee NC just south of Gattlingburg. It is a Shelby and Mustang show but they have also invited all Pantera owners. It is scheduled in Spetember, so maybe by then I will have my car cleaned up enough to enter.
Once again I appreciate the tip. I don't break in many new motors.
