My '86 5-S has strips of wood trim right above the armrests (like all other late model Panteras). I've got the door panels off and the whole backs of them are covered with a very thick sound deadening material, so it's not obvious how to remove these trim strips.

Does anyone know if there are some studs holding these in place, or are they fastened in some other way? I can't feel all the way through, and I don't feel anything like studs or nuts protruding.

Before I cut strips of the sound deadening material away, can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

For those that would like to know, the wood strips just pop out (with some prying) once the armrest is removed. The trim piece just slides back into channels from back to front. Taking the door panels off just to remove this piece is not necessary. Only the front/top screw in the armrest needs to be removed.
