I was wondering about the dual resistor on my Pantera. I've seen resistors before, ofcause. But only where the positive (hot wire) from the ignition runs through on it's way to the coil. But never seen a dual, where it seems like the negative also runs through it... WHY !!???
The negative wire (Light blue) from the coil must feed the tach, right ? Does it need to run through that resistor, or how does it Work ?
I see the blue and red wire from the dual resistor goes to a plug, where the blue splits to a Blue wire and a Dark blue - The red splits into Red and Pink wires....

I simply don't get it !!! Confused

I have the POCA Tech CD, but think the wiring diagram on that disc is hopeless. Anybody that have a link to a better wiringdiagram (Late Pre L)

Oh, crap..... That, if possible, made me even more confused Eeker

Seems on that diagram, that the blue wire has the resistor between the coil and distributor ? Mine is between the connector plug and the coil.

And still don't get why the Blue and Red wire from the connector goes to ? I now know that the Pink is the feed from the ignitionswitch and the Blue/Black goes to the Tach.

I'm going nuts.....

Why is the resistor needed on the blue wire ? To protect the Tach, or ???

I've added a schematic of how my wiring is like.

Hi Heine, I have no idea what the purpose is for the dual Resistor. One Wire is missing in your setup and that is the + from the starter relay directly on to the Coil +. I would probably scrap that dual Resistor setup and restore it according to the Diagram I sent you on the link. The red wire from your setup could be for the electric Choker. The resistor on the Wire that goes to Tacho should not affect the tacho reading if you have an original tacho.
Think I'll scrap it..... And then buy a new single resistor for the positive side of the coil. And ofcause make a wire from the starterrelay to the coil. Wonder why that is mnissing..??? But I never had any problems starting, though. So it must get enough power from the ignitionswitch anyway.

I'll try and unwrap all the wires, to figure out where the blue and red wire goes.

Thanks Guys !
