Early style breather caps for valve covers

I will have to check tomorrow but I think I may have one.

OEM valve covers only used one of that style. The other valve cover used a rubber grommet that accepted a push-in PCV valve.

how are you doing something different that is going to use two of these?

I have the finned aluminum covers, both are machined to accept the OEM type 1/4 turn breather cap.  I put the PCV valve in one, and a right angle hose fitting in the other.

I could be wrong, but don't most Mustang restoration supply stores have those still?

I agree with Otis. This is a reproduction part and you can find them with a quick search.

I thought I had one but a search today came up negative.

The photo is of the rubber grommet and a 90° PVC valve as I am using on 2511.

The reproductions are about $60 and they sell for $40-$60 used on eBay. You can save some money by just using one metal breather attached to the carb or air cleaner and a rubber grommet for your PCV valve

On that grommet. Look at it carefully. IF it says C7AE on it, it is also used on a 67 Shelby GT500 valve cover. They are obsolete and not reproduced.

If it's the C7AE, it is worth it's weight in gold and very difficult to find.

eBay sales seem to indicate used examples selling for about $40 and new old stock closer to $60. There is a generic reproduction by Drake for about $15

Scott Drake is not known for quality or accuracy. Many have been burned by that company.

It got sold about 5 years ago and it's reputation has slipped drastically.

The plastic 1/4-turn cap used to come in two sizes- large (early) and small (late) on about every Ford V-8 made '60s to ??  Should be available from wrecking yards everywhere as they seem to last well. Our '72 had the large plastic caps & were transferred to aluminum covers in '80; still on the car & sealing well. The rubber grommet for the PCV may be more of a problem.
