I just got my dash back together after refacing my trim panel and everything worked fine. I reached up behind the dash to tighten the last thumb screw for the speedo, and the tach and oil pressure lights (these two gauges are right next to each other) went out while all the others remained on. The fuel, water temp, and oil temp gauges went dead, but the lights were still on. I reached up behind the dash again, and the tach and oil pressure lights came back on, and the other three gauges came to life, but the oil pressure needle pegged at the max end. I turned the headlight switch off, and the gauges went dead again. I turned the headlight switch back on, and this time turned the dimmer switch down. When it went off, the gauges went dead, when I turned it back on, they came back to life. As I felt around and moved the hazard switch wiring, these things would go on and off.

It was at this point that I noticed my radiator fans were also going on and off with the dimmer switch, and only when the headlight switch was on. When the headlight switch was off, or when the dimmer switch was off, all of those things were dead. Everthing came back when the switches were on.

To recap, moving the wirinig to the hazard switch had them going on and of for a bit, but now moving it has no effect. Now both the headlight and dimmer switches have to be on for me to get the mentioned items to function.

WTF is going on here???????

Got it!

What a dumbass I are.

I had the ground for the light and one of the pink wires crossed on the oil pressure gauge. I guess that's what I get for doing it at 2:am by a dying flashlight while I have to pee like a madman.

Stroppe, your suggestion had me looking at all the grounds. Thanks.

PanteraDoug, your post made me get a fire extinguisher from the house to keep on the seat next to me!
