I am attempting to take off both DeTomaso and Pantera emblems from the rear of my car, but am having real difficulty at something that I thought would be real simple. These appear to be plastic emblems with the posts shoved into some kind of metal housing within the hole in the car. I tried pushing them out from the back engine area, but that didn't work. Then tried prying a screwdriver between the emblem itself and that metal housing on the outside of the nicely painted car (ouch!...don't slip!), not much working room there.

Is there some secret I am lacking, or just more time & patience needed.

Thanks Mark. From your message, it seems that the metal pins come secured onto the emblem posts, so that the pins and the emblem must be removed at the same time, correct?
I was trying to get the embems out while leaving the pins in the car so that I could insert new metal emblems. The problem with trying to push the posts from the engine area is that a couple of the posts are hidden under a metal portion of the car. Fornunately mine don't appear to be glued onto the car though, but sure are tight into the car body.
