Engine number ?? is it sually the same as the chassis number ?? | The De Tomaso Forums

I can't find the engine number on my pantera. On Australian fords the engine number is the same as the chassis number and the VIN.
Is it the same with Panteras ?
I have to stamp the number in a place that the inspector can see, ie on the back of the block. but I am unsure what number to stamp !
Any help would be most appreciated.

i found that plate and have just cleaned the paint off the back of the block.
there are some numbers there, but it is stamped real bad, number 7 then number 44 both stamped upside down ! then 8 so 7448 is that right ? or should there be more numbers ?

Mine is a 5 digit number that includes two leading zeros.
