Look in your red Owners manual for the settings for the various air deflectors for best results. They are entirely manual so have nothing to do with the running of the system, only where the air comes out. The on/off for the magnetic clutch is the AC rotary switch on the rt side of the console, which also powers up the rear fan on the condenser. A corroded connection in back may prevent this fan from running, which then overpressures the AC and blows a hose off. Some people add ann overpressure switch to this circuit to protect the system The console 'Fan' switch simply turns on the blower that moves air through the AC evaporator under the dash.
Checked the functions yesterday.

1) Fan switch position#1 - nothing (end-of-story)
2) Fan switch position#2 - fan, heater light in dash, rear ac condenser fan on.
3) Fan switch position#2 & A/C on - compressor on, condenser fan on, inside fan on, heater light on.

So looks like fan switch in position#1 I have A) no FAN light in dash and B) no FAN actuation.

Suggestions? (or comments)......seems strange that the condenser fan will turn on w/o a/c dial turned on.
