Fire Suppression System

Anyone got any wisdom on a fire suppression system?

I carry 2.5lb Halon fire extinguishers in all my cars, but with the new engine install and move to track use in #7024 I was thinking about going to a full fire suppression system. I can't seem to find much availability of systems that still use Halon, so what is the next best thing or a modern replacement for Halon?

They have lots of Halon systems. I use the "Fire Bottle" brand in my race car. Manually triggered with one nozzle in front of the driver and a second nozzle spraying the engine.

In my Hall Ultra GT5S I have some type of system set up with jets in the engine bay on each side of the engine on the firewall, and the bottle is in the front trunk (I believe maybe Halon), and the button igniter is on the dash. Since the car was done by Hall, maybe he has some insight if you wanted a similar system. I almost had to use it the other day when a gas return hose came disconnected from the fuel injection set up, with gas pouring right next to the stinkin headers. How easy you could blow up and loose your car from a simple loose clamp.
