NOS Pantera front hood emergency release cable kit. The Ford part number on this kit is D36Y 16916-A and it includes the factory installation instructions.
I bought it on ebay a couple of weeks ago for $51. When going to install it in my car I noticed that a kit was already there! The previous owner of the car didn't know it was there either. Actually this could easily be done without the original kit, it's very simple. What a good seller I am. Make an offer.
Just an FYI. On my car,a 72 pre-L(3584) there is already an open slot for installing an emergency release cable. It is accessible through the Left inner fender and if you look up towards the back you'll see a small 2"slot which goes into the hood area. Attach the cable as shown on the intructions but then just route it straight out towards the fender and through the opening. Try looking exactly under the rubber stop for the left rear corner of the hood. Keep looking,it should be there and you can avoid having to drill anything.
I made and sold a couple of E releases on Ebay for about $5 each. Really not worth doing. I have nice photo instructions. I will email to any one who wants to see. Request gaino(at)emeraldis.com
