Front oil seal

I am replacing the front crankshaft oil seal. I bought a felpro kit and all of the gaskets appear correct. The oil seal is different. It is the same diameter but it has a metal lip on it so it can only go in from the front since the plate that holds it has a flange on the rear. It is double lipped and about 1/4" taller. Is this a correct seal and is it ok to put it in from the front?
