I am sure I may offend some people with this but I just can not help myself. I am so amazed when people have problems with thier vehicles that they attempt the fix with Lipstick, bubblegum and nail polish!!! No wonder we can not get the values of these Pantera's up to a level of where they truly should be. Why can't people fix the problem the correct way? If you have an oil leak, fix it with either a new gasket, new part etc.etc... Call me silly but I just don't get it. Some people would rather run to the local Home Depot store and spackle silicone all over the motor or stuff racket balls all over the car to stop sqeaks and say they fixed it? I just think these car deserve to be fix correctly rather than just putting a bandaid on it. Don't get me wrong, tricks of the trade are alway handy, but let's not be foolish about it. All Pantera's derserve better attention.

Sorry if I offended anyone...

tmoug, I agree thats why when you buy a pantera you need to have it checked out. You never know the rinky dink cheap fixes people do to the their cars. Of course it's their car and they can do what they want. I got lucky on my cat, over all pretty good but some of the stuff I found "fixed" did not solve the problem just delayed it.
Sometimes a simple way is a good way to fix small problems, this allows owners to drive their cars now. Now I dont mean putting metal fix in a leaky radiator, or using duct tape to hold a bumper on. But simple and easy ways may help someone thats not a total gear head from getting frustrated with the car. People can learn at there own pace and wait until winter to do it right. Offering suggestions is what this forum is all about. It allows various and hopefully constructive answers and comments for those who want to drive these cars, and not have to take them to gas stations to be worked on. But everyone isnt a master mechanic whos must make their car perfect to increase its value.

Terry, I fully support the forum and believe it helps many, many people of all levels regardless of thier mechanical abilities. I just think at times "common sense" should come into play not only for value reasons, but for safety and reliability reasons of the car as well. Unfortunatley, most quick fixes are never fixed and passed on to the next owner. Just looking for good solid advice from Jack and many others who can help all Pantera owners fix problems correctly. OK, I'm done being negative and I want nothing but the best for this forum as a useful resource for information!!!
