This is a highly modified 1972 DeTomaso Pantera.

This car is prepared for racing, it has been constructed with thousands of dollars of performance enhancements and uncounted hours of build time from what we understand. We purchased the car in auction as it is now. We were going to create a race team and use this for our first race car however we are heavily involved in restorations at the moment and there are no good road courses on Long Island.

There is an aluminum SVO stroked 427 cu in engine with Eagle steel crank and connecting rods, Yates aluminum heads and competition roller cam. No expense was spared on the power plant and traditional over-heating issues with the Pantera have been corrected with SCT oil pump, Canton road race oil pan, remote oil cooler and aluminum radiator with heavy duty cooling fans. I believe there is a 7AL ignition system installed and the car runs on C-16 race fuel.

The ZF transaxle has been improved with Timken bearings and hydraulic throw-out bearings. The suspension has been improved with Koni shocks and stopping power provided by Wilwood racing brakes and rotors. It has 2 fire extinguishers, a 4-post bolt-in roll cage and quick release steering provided for safety when driven on track days. The flared wheel arches have been riveted in to accommodate 18x10 and 18x13 CCW Classic wheels and competition tires. An extra set of rain tires and wheels are included. (The badging suggests this is a Pantera GTS however the VIN shows that it is not in fact a GTS).

There is a brand new triple disc race clutch and throw-out bearing that has been installed. This car is ready to race apart from needing new tires. We leave that up to the buyer for your specific needs.

This Pantera represents a chance to own an Italian super car at a fraction of the original investment cost. The car has not been tested on the dyno but I believe it puts down over 600bhp and enough torque to speed up the rotation of planet earth.

Please PM me for many more photos and details as I could only upload 1 photo.

VIN: THPNM004272

Price: $55995

Is the SVO engine block a 351 Cleveland that has been stroked to 427?

If not, then what engine block was used?

With a drive train parasitic lose of 20% to claim "Over 600 BHP" would mean in the neighborhood of 800 HP at the flywheel.

What is the compression ratio & carburetion system being used?
Hello, thank you for your interest in the car. I unfortunately have limited history to go by on the car as it was purchased in auction. However I can tell you that this is a Stroker motor, it has a Holley Carburetor, 7AL ignition and high compression to run on C-16. This thing is a Monster! If you have a look in Google the difference between Brake Horse Power and Wheel Horse Power you will find that BHP is in fact at the Crank. Again I can't verify the exact number but it is very high because this car pulls like nothing else I've ever driven.

You are correct, my mistake, as I meant to use RWHP ( Rear Wheel Horse Power) vs BHP.
The VIN and Chassis numbers are all in place on this. As for the build I do not know unfortunetaly because it was purchased in auction with intension to go racing.

can you send some more pictures, does it have all the vin and chassis numbers in place. Also where was all the work done at.
That for sale ad is over a year old and GPC566 only had 9 posts, all related to the sale of the car, not been back since Feb 2016.

I do believe this car sold quite some time back and in today's market the $56K asking price would be an absolute steal.
