I recently purchased a new gas tank sending unit from a vendor. Prior to installing it I did a bench test and found it doesn't seem to work. I hooked up my old one and it works fine (I'm switching to the new style due to an apparent hole in the suction pipe in the tank). Any have this issue also? It also has only two terminals. Did they do away with the warning light on '72s?

Husker,

I too bought a sender from a vendor and it did not work. I did not check it before I installed the tank. I got this diagram of the wiring and found that I had crossed the 2 wires and all is fine now. Mines a 74.

74LQQKR, Thanks for the help. I was missing the ground. This sender is set up differently.
