Adding, the front fender contours are an integral part of the monococque's stiffness. So hacking 50% of the fenders away either needs significant chassis stiffening with fiberglas flairs, or steel flairs welded back on, to maintain even stock chassis stiffness. Look closely at the underside of an all-steel factory GT-5 car for some good ideas.
This photo shows the outside of the same front left fender in metal. It is very difficult to see the weld in this photo -- but be assured that it is butt welded and not lap welded.

The reason I wanted to have metal flares installed was from a monocoque strength standpoint. Probably a heavier way to go -- but there was no way I was going to have the car made in carbon fiber.......

Um, factory GT5 cars were never all steel, they had fiberglass flares.

I am halfway through a GR4 conversion with fiberglass flares (and have been for about 3 year now, but that's another story). I'll grab some photos with the flares pinned on, removed and I think I still have the bits I cut out.

I don't think you will have a problem, I remember the late Gary Wilson's beautiful blue car he ran that tire combo and it all fit, he ran his car low and he was a guy who raced professionally, that said I wonder if anyone has seen Dave and Linda Adler s car?
their approach was to add from the top body line out with another fender, I always thought it looked really good.
