... See the two black 'dots' in the bottom of the Box?...they are rubber PLugs or Set-Screws??(don't remember), that are removed to Access the two set-screws, in the underside of the Arm, keeping it from rotating, and TIGHT on the Shaft. NO need to remove the cover plate, in order to Check the Set-Screws, for Tightness. Long ago, I found these screws, loose and causing play in the Shifting/Gating!. Check for play before you put the cover back on.

I had to lay on my back and use a Metric 'T' handle 'Allen' Wrench, never had to remove the plate, but did, to see the grease.. I'll bet there are a LOT of shifters out there with these Loose, and 'Play' in the system, that just 'can't be Located'!! Never TOO Much Grease. Just use the 'Correct' Grease.

...A recommendation...If you are having difficulty shifting into 'Reverse', it's usually because the 'Back-Up Light' SWITCH, is Screwed IN TOO Far. Check it out! Prove Me Wrong!
