Kaase is back with a 400 Ford, instead of the Pontiac he ran last time. I haven't had time to check the rules but I'm surprised no one went for a Boss 302 or 351C, given the HP average is factored by displacement. I know the long rods and tall deck height of the 400 are an advantage but I wonder if there is something else like the longer runners of the intake contributing to the decision? I'm not sure what sort of flexibility they give with respect to bore and stroke this year. I thought the stroke had to be stock. If they allow a reduced bore and increased stroke, then the decision to go to a 400 would be obvious.

Thanks Kelly,

I am still moving; slow like a turtle. It doesn't look like I get much done till you look back. I am working on headers right now. It's kind of cramped between the suspension and I did not want to loose trunk space with the 180's. I am working on sending two pipes over the suspension. Think I have just enough room. Hopefully get the engine up and running again in a month or two to test the Webbers and some headers. I have spacer plates for the webbers but I am thinking of welding up my own Weber intake. Many Many other things.

It may be 2 months before I get it running. I have some trips coming up and I am heading to Reno for the Air Races. I am going to build an engine stand to get it running but will probably take it to a dyno shop to test some different headers.
