I switched over to a new Holley Sniper 2 from my carbs, and the tachometer is now on the touchscreen display that comes with the Sniper 2.  I would still like to use the original tachometer, and the Sniper2  has a wire (the grey one from the 16 pin main connector) which is supposed to connect to the tachometer and allow it to display the rpm.  However, I read somewhere that the original tachometer can get fried if it is not connected properly.  So I called Holley, and was told the grey wire will provide 12v, and might need a convertor to bring it down to "9v continuous wave," which they believe is required for the Pantera, or else I could fry the original tachometer.  And they do not sell such a convertor.  Does anyone have any experience with this?  Has anyone done this that could provide some technical assistance on how I could get this accomplished?

Thank you in advance.

Steve, according to Holley tech support, it won't work.  But I spoke with Jon Haas at Pantera Electronics, and he said his adapter will work, and that several customers have already used it successfully and without an issue.  So I am picking one up from him and trying it.

Thank you all.  I will keep you posted.
