I just yanked my '72s transaxle for a rebuild. In looking things over, a new clutch is in order. I like to run the canyons in Colorado, not drag race on Friday nights. I will probably never race it on a track (ok, only a little if I get the chance) so I don't think I need a $600 to $800 clutch.
Neither my wife nor I have had any problem with clutch effort, so while easier would be nice, it is not a major concern.
Is the clutch in the stock Pantera anything special? It looks pretty much like a stock 351C unit available at any quickie parts store. I'm willing to spend a little more than bottom feeder prices, but I'm more concerned with proper fit and normal longevity than I am in ultimate performance. I would sure appreciate any advice or experience you can give me.
Thanks, Mooso.
