Head* D1ZE

i bought these D1ZE heads here in Adelaide, Australia

(American-made 4v Heads) They are open chamber heads with the big 4v valves. They were being used on a ski-boat engine apparently.

They cost about  USD$400 from our local 'Gumtree' online marketplace (our 'Craigslist')

These type of closed chamber heads were not made in Australia; we would've had 2v  inlets on our locally manufactured, equivalent heads.

These will go on my George Pence spec engine i'm slowly, starting to get started. A Clevo block i bought for USD$40 has been tested as original bore size

(I had a Pantera engine in my Mustang...geez, of any car I'd like to get back is that 1970 fully factory optioned yellow M-code convertible with 4 speed--among Mustangs, a genuinely rare car). The engine had been changed to a D1 2BBL 351c when I got it, and the biggest mistake I made building back was not getting closed chamber 4bbl heads. I always imagined that the Aussie heads would have made that car much more fun to drive, the 351c was just a bit groggy and even a mildly perkier cam just didn't respond the way I'd hoped for a famous Cleveland....

But god, everyone loved to see that car driving by.  When driving my 308 GT4, I'd get the look that said "so you are the lawyer who foreclosed on my house..." But everyone loves a yellow mustang convertible....).
