Maybe the best looking car I've ever seen.
Of course I'm pretty late to the party. I probably won't see the car until 2024.

Very cool. I'm getting Saleen S1 vibes from the side profile. Did you go with the 4 or the 6 cyl?
I opted for the 3.5 liter supercharged V6 and 6 speed manual (of course).
Now I just have to decide on color, sorry colour.

Since it's British, racing green seems most appropriate 'colour'.
At first look I thought to myself, Looks like another tiny, anemic, queer machine but then I looked closer. Styling is on point and you know this car will stop and handle like a real race car. 3000 lbs. 400 HP.... I would drive one.
Back when I was in Ford Performance, we had a track day with Ford GTs, Shelby Mustangs, Camaros, etc and the Lotus guys brought some cars for us to try. The Elise was the most fun to blast around in. If I recall, that model did not have carpet in it, so perhaps not suited as a daily driver as it was pretty raw, but the high revving motor and great handling were a blast.
Probably the closest experience to the kart racing that I used to do!
The Emira is a hot looking car!!
On my Sunday drive ritual in my 71, I go to the swap meet here in San Diego. The first thing I see is a brand new Lotus with 400 miles on it. The owner said he loved it and the reason he bought it was that Jay Lino did a segment on his show about it. In that show Jay said it is the most fun to drive out of all of his cars. This guy paid 100K for it. It is a cool car but I like old cars that I can work on and drive without worrying about it. It seems like all these new wickedly fast super cars like Demons, Vettes and European exotics are big money looser. Top of the line 150K + BMW and Mercedes two or three years later can be had for a fraction of the cost. There is nothing like the smell of a new car but, That fades quickly.
That was likely an Evora.
Also a fantastic car.
I normally would agree with you on depreciation but I think -and maybe it's the craziness of car prices over the last 2 years- there are some cars that will hold their value pretty well.
Will be interesting to see how close to the current MSRP on the car ends up. I'm sure there will be dealers adding $20K in "market adjustments" and BS like that.
He said his was the one of the last gas powered, it wasn't electric and then again I don't no squat about a Lotus.
