Beautiful day and decided to go for a drive. Put the key in the ignition and the switch would not turn....this has happened before, but have always been able to get it to turn. Not this time, no way way... no matter how hard I tried.
I had purchased a new replacement ignition cylinder so decided to change it out. When I took the old one out, found that the key was working properly but the mechanism attached to the cylinder had some burrs and needed to be lubricated. Rehabbed the mechanism and put it back in and all is well.
Question? The cylinder I bought from Graham is an exact replacement BUT the mechanism on the back side is not as long. There is a pin on the replacement cylinder that looks like it can be removed and it will come apart, but cannot find the same on the original. Has anyone done this and have any suggestions??
