The vendors sell a set that uses the stock location except the retractor mechanism on the bottom of the firewall. There is a plate that bolts into the area in the inner sill that contains the retractor mechanism and the top bolts into the upper attachmant on the firewall.
There is another alternative, there is a company in Texas (I believe) called Snake Oyl that restores seatbelts. They replace webbing, rechrome attaching parts etc. They are a pretty expensive alternative however.

Good Luck

Gary Herrig, the guy who does the Corvette seats for Pantera's, does a little auto-upholstery on the side. He told me he can re-web my seat belts for me, so you can contact him if all you want is nice, new webbing. He said most auto upholstery shops do re-webbing routinely, so you can also check your local auto upholstery shops.

I am going to do that too, but first I'm going to scour the auto salvage yards. I dislike the way the shoulder harnes clips onto the seat belt buckle, so I'll be looking for newer style buckles that have the seat belt looping thru the buckle and back to the shoulder harness bolt. Then I'll probably get a local auto upholstery shop to stitch up some new webbing and use the original hardware for the three attachment points on each side. Should save about 5 minutes each time I get in and buckle up.

You can also re-dye the webbing until you get around to one of these alternatives above. You can contact Garry Herrig and I know for sure he has several old Pantera seat belt assemblies laying around he'll part with.

Hey, the late model Ls had a three point harness with retractors both in the rocker panels and also on the bulkhead. That's what I have.

Why are you telling me this Jeff? If you don't want my help, I won't answer yer questions.

Hey, L's had two types of seat belts, look at the manual, Body Illustration Section, pp 12 and 13.

Hey hey, "L model seat belts needed" should be posted in the CARS AND PARTS FORUM. I don't think I can help you since you're teaching me now. Correcting me, only not exactly correct, see the manual. Anyway, mine suck and I'm going to replace them, do what ever you want to do. But you're the Newbie, not me.

Want to make some friends: just start correcting everybody and forget to say THANK YOU. Hey yourself.... sheesh, try and help this guy, he starts trying to correct me. Whadda guy!
