Forest,

A larger master cyl bore will INCREASE the required pedal effort. The original '71 clutch master cyl had a bore of 11/16", so a 3/4" bore master would have INCREASED the pedal effort slightly (~9%).

You might consider installing the clutch pedal effort reduction kit. It does make a difference. Wilkinson lists it for $207 w/o the pedal shaft (item #1), which you don't need.

Hey John, I reconsidered the ratio for a large bore after I posted and thought that was stupid question but hey, it was a long hot day! Good advice on the pedal reduction kit - I will follow up on that first. I may still have to replace the clutch - years ago I installed a "racing clutch" that I bought from Dennis. That was before I got older and decided that I really just liked to cruise the neighborhood.

Second question, I have been off the list for awhile - does the Centerforce require a new flywheel? Will the Macleod fit the original flywheel?

Thanks to everyone that responded,
Forest - Still hanging in Hadlyme
With a larger bore master remember that extra fluid volume has to go somewhere and from what I have heard it is possible to over extend a hydrualic throwout bearing and blow it out (maybe the new designs are different). I know Dennis no longer sells or recommends their use, having been one of the biggest advocates previously.

Forest,

This is the McLeod clutch and pp for the dash 2:

#360505 pp, 11" long (3-finger) with counter weights.

#260131 disc, 11" organic, 1-1/6" x 10 splines. This is a Pantera specific disc.

This was no change in pedal effort from the original Pantera 3-finger pp (with the isis stamp). Well, maybe a tad (barely noticeable) more due to old vs new. Wink
