I purchased a HEI Distributer which has a larger base than my current distributer. Does anybody know if this will fit? If I have to move the engine/trans back by reversing the motor mounts, how do you get the trans mounts pushed back with out cutting and rewelding?

Well with my 392W I had to trim the engine cover mount that is on the firewall. It was to make room for the plug wires.

Ford spent a ton of money developing this, parts are at every auto parts store, on the shelf (not special order) in the whole country, and it works fine.

Agree. I don't even know what color strain relief I now run on ours after
leving the key On for too long and blowing the brainbox. Whatever Kragens
sells as a Duraspark 2 for a 460. I also heartily recommend running a later
model E-coil on the recommendation of JC Christian, rather than the can of oil
type coils- which went south with the box. I did find a variation in
mounting bolt hole position, but changing one hole out of 3 in the Pantera mount

I have read of plenty of MSD and Mallory failures. And replacing failed parts is $$$ and takes time to receive.
