My new "old" car is overheating and I'm going to get the rad recored. I might as well modify it so it will accomodate the future front condensor. Do any of the vendors sell a mod kit to accomplish this? If so, are they worth it? I remember reading that the front gets moved forward but the bottom gets moved back so the hood can still close. Anyone have some dimensions for me? Tips? Advice?
Thanks, Will

Will,

I would like to see pictures of this ? The Aluminum Rad and sucker fans I bought from PI works great ...even in hard pounding at the track. Couple things added are manual switches, and a good water pump..... not the ones with the stamped steel impeller .. get the one with the cast iron impreller like a REAL PUMP should have ...also watch the configuration of the hoses connected to the radiator ... I forget now but there was some talk about the hose from the bottom of the Rad should go to the water pump.

Lay down radiator ? Whats the advantage here ? Are we using a much larger one and trying to get moresurface area ? And which was is it laying down top towards the front ? Probably one of the best things to consider is a giant hole in the hood to release the hot air ..

Here is what I did.
this car already had the rad layed down in the factory lower mounts. to fit the condenser I had to move it up and back like you said. I fabbed some new lower mounts then welded and undercoated them. I also had to fab new upper mounts that bolt to the existing mount on the rad. The pics of the condenser install are in another post it did on that topic.
Hope this helps.
