LED's for Gauge lights? | The De Tomaso Forums

BossWrench had mentioned going to the 5w light bulbs from the stock 2w a number of years ago. I went to a few sites and saw that LED's are now being produced smaller and for more applications. Has anyone used them in the Pantera dash??

I changed mine out to the 5 watt. The improvement was minor.

Likewise, even on white faced gauges. The problem is not the brightness of the light, but the space for the light to exit from behind the faceplate.

I have seen them used and thought they were an improvement over the amount of light in my gages with standard bulbs. The owner had installed BA9s-G4 12 Volt (ac or dc) bayonett base bulbs with 4 super green 3 mm LEDs.

I have used Autometer's LED bulbs in the factory gauges and they worked very well. I used green ones at the time.
