Seems to be the general feeling of Pantera owners. If I do get this car, I think it will have to go back to original, and yes it means Green. I should know by this weekend if he accepts my offer. If I do purchase this car, it means that either the big block 68 convert camaro, or the pro street 64 el camino has to go. Anybody have any interest?
I encountered this lime green one at the link below quite a while back & was considering buying. The paint job was original (never repainted), and the car did need new paint to look real good. I thought the lime green would look hot with some updated wheels, but settled on an orange car at the time instead (orange and green...probably the most odd ball colors around, but sure get the attention & thumbs up all the time).

Thanks for the link, it helps in making my decision. I made an offer on the car today, and we are 3K apart. I am sure by the next couple of days we will come to some kind of an agreement. I got it approved by the wife and that was the hardest part!!
Ha Ha, oh yes, approval from the wife is rather important. Did you get the car? Hope you get the car and go with the lime green. When I got my orange car, the first thing I had planned to do was change the color! Now I am glad I didnt, as it really grew on me over time, and complements from the real hot roders are endless. Somehow it seems that the lime green and orange cars take on more of an exotic hot rod combination rather than just an exotic look. I actually get more complements on my orange car than the dark cranberry onego figure.
Yep I brought it home Friday night. Got it running well this weekend and cleaned it up. It appears to have been painted twice. The first time must have been in mid 70's because it was painted dark blue with huge metal flakes. It is now red. I still plan on going back to Lime.

There seems to be growing momentum to bring the cars back to original colors. IMHO, this helps the marque and in the long run stock looking cars may have more value. I support you on the color choice. Of course I am somewhat biased since mine is being painted right now - in it's original color!

RED! uuckk!! :-)

When I was shopping for my Pantera, it took about a year and a half, the prime attributes I were looking for were a well-documented history of quality upgrades (the more the better) AND a non-red car. I felt red was the 'standard' color for sports cars and in the Italian sports car world the Pantera is far from 'standard', with its mixed ancestry of parts and pieces. One of our PCNC members has an original dark green car and it does have a certain 'air' about it that comes off well. I almost bought one of the grabber blue cars but Matt beat me to it ;-). Mine is a non-stock metallic titanium Porsche color. One thing for sure, a caravan of Panteras, each in its own color, sure looks a lot more interesting than a line of Ferraris which must be about 96% red. In any case, we all should be proud of owning the best looking mid-engine car ever designed, whatever the color.

Larry,
Our car is ITALIAN! It has to be red :-)

Where have I heard that before :-)

But like I said, quality of paint job means more than the actual color.

Silver is cool when it's surrounded by a bunch of red Italian exotics...but my Pantera spends 99.8% of its life surrounded by non-red, non-Italian cars :-)
