IMO, the Pantera is a reverse logic car. The cheapest Pantera is the most expensive on you can find for sale. The most expensive Pantera is the basket case that you want to fix up yourself.
Examples? You can buy cars that some guy has just spent a hundred grand on restoring it in a shop for sixty grand. Or you can buy a 20 grand rusted out hulk that doesn't run, spend five years of your life and one-hundred thousand dollars for parts, and still wind up with a car not quite as nice as the sixty grand one.
So what really matters is what you are after. Do you want a really nice car, or do you want a hobby for the next five years where when you are done, you can truly say that you built a work of art from scratch????
thanks guys.
i'll continue looking.
never been one to take any credit for something someone else has built and slaved over. the reward in anything you do in life is directly related to the amount of blood sweat and tears invested. i've never understood how some people can stand next to a car and take pride in a car that they merely "bought"... and yes i'd rather buy junk and spend 100k and 5 years building something than spend 100k and attempt to find satisfaction in that...

i appreciate it.

Daymon ... Detom has a very valid point and hit it on the head ... if you prefer to work on it yourself .. find a car that is solid ..meaning very little rust and no accidents ... then from there you have a good foundation .. I might add ..thats not a very easy task in Pantera World. You have to look close up on a lift in areas that are covered with undercoating.

From that point money and idea's and enjoyment is endless.
