I'm with Greg, that new lime one at BHCC is a good looking car. No way remotely it is the same car that was there in tatters before---they are only the both color. The car there now seems highly original and does not show the signs of massive repair or rust and customization that the one without the door had. Its quite the opposite, it shows consistent care (and they claim was owned by the same person since 1979). The car they have here looks like the available bargain in a Mangusta, either as a restoration candidate or simply to just get in and drive...

(Last limegreen Goose at BHCC was pretty tortured (with an automatic transmission on the motor resting in the rear, missing a door and clearly a lot of legacy/necessary plastic surgery)...this is clearly a different car, you can see some evidence of 'something' that makes a bad fit around the passenger door--but on the whole, the car is quite original, appears to be original undercoating under the car, even the replacement air cleaner at least looks somewhat 'correct...' (at least, close enough for someone to just drive and enjoy the car). Some overspray underneath, replaced felt in the trunk and oil pan...but many pieces as original (yellowed vinyl edge trim in the engine bay, correct blackout paint around the latches, etc...). Note the leather strap for the jack, or the rubber hose over the stainless pull cable. A 17k mile car, its believable.

If you use a search engine you can find plenty for sale and the best deals are those where you put in a little elbow grease scouring the internet. Mobile.de or Autoscout24.de work well for Europe, there’s a couple of reasonably priced Geese for sale.

...I can't help nut stare, but even from the pictures it seems the green paint is original--at least, the blackout color around the engine cover latches is as original, even you can see the overspray along the ridges. No, not a great respray, but leaving the original car below. Geez, replace rubber lines, see if one of Denis' air cleaners is still available, re-stuff the seats, put on a boring gas cap and drive it. This car looks very original and authentic.

the Schmitt car is something I'd never buy, because its a virtual copy of how my car is supposed to look Yeah, except for a replaced turn signal stock and missing paper intake tubes, it looks like a stellar car--and to say overpriced is hard to guess, it is expensive but after even buying a $197k car and having 1000 hours and 2 years more in it to reach the same condition....its peculiar what even drives any one person to buy any one car.

I just joined and have had a life long interest in the Mangusta. The lime green car at BHCC is interesting. I sent a message to see if it’s still available. I’m moderately familiar with BHCC and let’s just say one can’t tell a book by its cover - especially at BHCC.
assuming it’s still available is there someone in LA who could do a PPI?
I’m also happy to take any comments from the group here.
