Gary,

You and me both, I have been searching for a while for a set to put back on my GT5. Unfortunately they are becoming very rare and now command around $6K a set when available.

There is a guy Cesare Magistrali in Italy who has the original molds and is amagnesium caster. He is supposedly planning to recast some sets, but I think in typical Italian style it is going to be slow at best. The price mentioned was around $7K Euros!

If only the aftermarket wheel suppliers would get the rim to look right maybe people would not have to search for originals.Every one I have seen so far is not even close, the spokes are too long and the centre hub is not tapered like the originals. It's a shame because it would not have needed that much extra to make them look right.
Sam,

Have you seen the ones Kodiak Motorsports makes? Those are supposed to be a direct copy taken from original Campi's supplied to Daryle. Unless you go with 15" diameter, then they'll never look excalty right, but then that defeats the object for many as finding tires becomes a problem.

The Aluminum still doesn't do it for me, I'd have to powder coat them. Even then I'd still rather have the original lightweight mags.

Julian
I think a good point has been made about the original 15" configuration. The smaller diameter does seem to add to the attraction of the wheel. Ah yes finding those tires to fit - the next big challenge. I still have a set of 325 Yokahama's but they will be wore out before I find the rims.
Thanks for the offer EVOD and the info @ Kodiak Joules. Food for thought.
I talked to Kodiak today. They never did a 15" 10-spoke wheel. It was only an 18". There would be a one-time set up charge to design the center and proof it.

If people are interested in doing a group purchase, we could lower that non-recurring per person charge by spreading it over the order. But coordinating such is probably too hard. Just food for thought.

If you want the Group IV look in a 3 piece wheel, check out ROIN wheels in Italy. They are represented on e-bay by the US dealer. Just search for "Pantera Wheels" on ebay and they will come up. Basically $4k a set.
I am thinking of going with them as the hard work is done and the wheels exist. No designing involved. Deliver is 3-4 weeks. Shipping is ~ $70 bucks within the US.
I'll be visiting ROIN in two - three weeks.
I will also most probably re-visit Cesare Magistrali, whom i visited last year already. Roin and Magistrali are 140 miles away from each other, and I speak Italian fluently.
With Roin, we are talking about a different manufacturing process, but both are worth having a look, as Cesare's prices are, to me, very excessive and there are also lots of other important questions left unanswered by him.
Last but not least, I will have lunch ASAP with the largest Belgian wheels' distributor for the last 20 yers or so, ( that I know personnally ) and he knows ALL wheels manufacturers worldwide personnally. He will certainly be able to guide me through manufacturing process and RIGHT PRICING.
Any questions ? Let me know.:>Wink)

Those still have exposed bolt heads, I'm looking for something much closer to original Campi's and preferably in Magnesium.

Pat, thanks please keep us informed on you talks.. What is right pricing? The last set of originals I saw fetched over $6K on Ebay, but how much of that is rareity value. I think there should be quite a few buyers if Cesare can get a true reproduction made.

Julian
Hi Pat, I was reading your post about visiting Roin Tech, and was wondering if they would sell directly to the customer? I repeatily tried contacting them about purchasing two sets of rims, but I never get a response! Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much Ross.
