Please tell me more about them John...
Don't know anything about them.
Most everything is in the works. Once the parts get here, it's mostly just bolting everything back together.

I plan on having my car on the track in Sept/Oct for the PI Event at PIR....
So....it's got to get done. :-)

Are you going to get the offset bushings for the front? I hear they are worth it. I wish I would have known about them when I replaced my bushings 3 years ago.

You have a busy summer lined up.

John
No kidding Mark. It was scary.
I measured, remeasure and measured again. Then came out the cutting wheel.
Got this set from Ted, he had one of the older style sets laying around and he made me a great deal.
Love the way it looks now compared to the bug eyed look before.
Thanks Mark.

Marlin....

Thanks !
You bet. After mapping them out, I did nothing but look at them for a week. Went very slow and they came out pretty good.

Actually the hood pins might be leaving this summer as well. I am looking at Skybolt Zaus fastners. The Cloc type.
SK215-4 for the adjustable Receptacles
SK-0316S for the Grommets
Still deciding on the Fastners.

The problem with a fiberglass hood and being pinned on the 4 corners is at high speeds, the air flow through the front of the car causes the hood to bow up in the middle. It hasn't caused any problems, but it looks wierd watching it from behind the wheel. I'll solve this problem by doing the Zaus fastners, 3 on the windsheild side, 3 down each side and 3 across the front end. They will also sit flush on the hood.

The hood is Fiberglass. I didn't see any point going to carbon fiber since I was going to paint it, not for the cost anyway. The hood weighs maybe 20 pounds at most. Very easy to lift off and put on by myself.

Check out the fastners I found. They really look like quality stuff Marlin.
Coz...

I did the same light kit a few weeks back, with the help of Larry Finch. Larry also has the same lights in his car, so we had the cars side by side. It made things alot easier, Measure, Measure again, then checked Larry's car! Everything went well till the light switch fell apart! Larry taped and tied it back together so I could get home safely. (got a new switch a week later)
Sure makes a difference, no more bug eyes! AND I can now see at night!
Curt
Coz,

The offset bushings give you a few degrees more castor up front. The more castor you can get, the better. Especially with wide tires like you have. I've read that Pantera East sells them. Other vendors probably do too. You can read more about it by searching for "offset bushings" on this forum.

Is your car going to be ready for Monterey????

John
Thanks Guys.

Maybe down the road. No time right now to fabercate the housing that they would need to sit in and be mounted to the bucket. But I do have a better idea now how it can be done and what will be needed. It's something I'll start drawing out and playing with after I finish with the projects I have at hand.

Need to get them done by Sept 29th and very little time to work on things right now.....

Not really. I'm pretty articulate when it comes to working with my hands. Must be all that horse racing I did and the bowling I do.... Wink

Just made sure everything was mapped out right and went very slow and careful with the cutting wheel.

Naw, I tried to cheat when doing it the last time. I had .50+ clearance on all the syncro's expept 2nd. I had .32. I had hoped it would be enough. On the bench it seemed ok. But under preasure in the gearbox, it's a different story.
Should have done it then.
As they say, do it right the first time otherwise you'll do it again.

Clutch ???? I don't need no stinken clutch.

WHAT?? Again??? Dang coz you are real hard on second gear for some reason. Use the clutch luke, use the clutch.
Thanks Kevin....
Things are moving along.
Suspension A arms & Misc. pieces are out being powder coated, ZF is almost done, brake system is in the process of being built, 1/4 window in the drivers door done....moving right along....

Did you ever get the new fuse block you were waiting for ? Could use your old one for the exchange for the time being we talked about.

I'll be out there with ya brother Sept 30th!!!! (Even if I have to have a tow truck pull me around the track)
:-)
