This may be a first, but I actually agree with Jeff on colors - that interior is just incredible.

I'm afraid if I owned it I'd only look at it all the time! A beauty.

That dealership has about 3 cars I'd like to own, the goose being #1.

I didn't call about price and they have no prices on their website.

When I first saw this (advertised in SCM too) I guessed $85k. Guess I guessed wrong!

I see a few non-stock items, nothing too serious. Does it have original paperwork or tools? Why are there no photos of the engine bay?

100-105K is my guess

I wondered about the engine bay too. Nicest shot of a front trunk I've ever seen though! Were the originals carpeted and bound? If so, they kinda cheaped out on the Pantera!
What it think happened here is someone grafted 4 headlights on a 2 H/L car.

Note the location of the signal lights

The grill emblem may just be poetic license, (probably could not find a good replacement crest)

That's a great comparison photo Denis.

I think you're right about the front emblem being hard to find. I always thought it was the same as the Pantera, but I'm not sure (even though I could technically just look at both of mine to see...). Using the T brand looks OK, just different. I almost prefer it appearance-wise — especially on a black car.

The carpeting in my front trunk doesn't look as plush and the edging is less pronounced. Mind you, I'm not certain that mine is original. I'm pretty certain that the carpets in the front trunk of 978 aren't, however.

The lower scoop is there I think, it just hides well in black on some photo angles. I understand the desire to "alter" the look to go from 2 to 4 headlights but I'm not sure I would have the gumption to do that to my car (unless it was crunched badly). I guess as long as the prospective purchasers are informed that this has been done then all is fine.

I was told that even though they are considered "less desirable" by some (me included), there were fewer 2 lamp than 4 lamp cars built so they are the more rare version. My perspective is that the car was originally designed to be a 4-lamp car and that is the way it should be.

Mark, I agree about the front emblem...although not original, that one looks GREAT!
Yes that is 8MA1200, owned and restored by Kwok in Montreal. Total restoration, very clean and strait. A few mods, but not reversible (jack-shaft gone. electronic ignition, back-up lamps) Asking price in late 2008 was 105K cdn.

Denis
I noticed what appears to be some rust under or near the door latch, in the LH door photo??? (the one of the tire air pressure decal)

This would make me want to see pictures of the undersides of the doors, and the underside of the chassis....AND the engine compartment, oil pan etc.

While the paint surely looks nice, the goof on the turn signals is not excusable!!!

The front grill emblem is the same as a Pantera.

While I love the 4 headlamp look, I really wouldn't have cut up a 14K mile car, unless there were some really significant issues with the car already.......!!!!>>>?????!

I cannot believe that they want $105K, yet describe the car with so little description..... "how not to sell a car"....

Just MHO!
Steve
I'm with you Steve. By contrast, 8Ma1200 looks really nice. I seriously considered that car when it was for sale in Montreal and had the vendor send me a slew of photos of it. It was easily the nicest Mangusta I had ever seen (in photos...). It really looked like it had been properly and thoroughly restored (with minor mods as Denis notes). Unfortunately the price was way more than my budget. Still is, but for that kind of money I know which of those two cars I would choose.

Anybody know if any of the vendors sell repro Mangusta tire pressure stickers? If not, does anyone have a better photo or measurements and description of one? Is it white paper, silver foil, or...?
The guy who is making the Pantera tire pressure stickers could probably also make these for us, too. I'd be happy to ask him about it, if we can get a better description or photo
