The jack is definitely found in some Ferarri's. Someone sent me a link a while back to some guy's personal parts data base (with pic's) of all sorts of stuff, and the Goose jack was in there..... of course that helps us little.....

Could have been used in others....but this is all I've noticed to date. The jack handle extension and the ratchet seem to be special to the Goose too. Both are longer than what came with the Panteras....and I can't remember what the Ferarri stuff looked like.....

The lug nut wrench in the tool kit has "similar" versions used by Fiat, but a different size! We need a 22mm, but the ones commonly found in Fiat 500's (where I've seen them) are smaller...darn!

Ok so I purchased a F308 jack, as it looked very close to the Goose's. Unfortunately it doesn't fit in 1244's saddle. As far as I can tell the saddle is 90mm wide whereas the base of jack is 95.4mm. Could anyone who has the original jack mesure it's base.
While you are at it please measure the lenght of the scissor itself the 308's is 13.5 in.

Thanks
Denis

Thanks Steve, Now I feel more confident in reworking the base and saddle. Now we know the F308 jack is not the same. as it is too short, and the base is too wide. Now on to tools.

Keep you posted.

Here is a shot of a Ghibli jack-set that is being offered for $795 on ebay at the moment.....

The extension is MUCH shorter than on a goose.....

I also found this somewhere which shows a later car being built:

Note: Headrests, bi-color tail lamp lenses, back up lamps, jack and toolkit stowed on RH side! Now I can understand why the leather strap is made so long! The tool bag is SUPPOSED to tie up there!!! Coolant tank cap is well below the top lines of the engine compartment...something I am concerned about!

Yellow top covers on the battery!

The fact that the paint on the valve cover cap, which should be black, is well worn away...would lead me to believe that this is a used car...not necessarily new??

It would almost appear that there is a shroud build around the rear AC condenser fan blades...look just to the left of the license plate...

Cool old pic!

I saw this thread and thought it was time to post the pictures. About two years ago, a local Boston car place advertised that they had an all original Mangusta with 7K of orginal miles.

A quick check of with the Factory and it was confirmed that the car was sold to a guy in PA from a local Boston dealer.

I saved all the pictures from the sale, and I just posted the tool kit pictures.

William,

That was car# 8MA716. It was one of the first Gooses that I got to see close up after purchasing mine. Indeed, 7K miles on it! Only thing it suffered from was lack of use. All of the chrome was getting crazed, and the leather was screaming for moisture!

Was on a biz trip to Philly and drove all the way across the state to check this car out! Got so excited that I missed half of the stuff I should have taken pictures of.....this was pre-digital...and left 4 rolls of unexposed film in the rental car....the dealer supposedly held the car "until they could install the factory skid plate"...which was one of the things that I wanted to take a picture of! DOUBLE DUH!!

Can't find my pic's of the very same toolkit! I know I took a digital shot of my analog picture and sent it to someone....but I can't find either of my two photos any longer either!

I did find this of 716's jack stowed:

Sorry for the crappy picture of a picture. Camera hits and misses since it was dropped....

Here is a shot of my jack-n-tools.

Ratchet: aprox 12-1/4" long.
Extension: 15.5" long, 14mm hex on the ratchet end, and 19mm socket head on the other.

Hope this helps ya Denis!

Wow, I do not believe this!!!

The "partial" and battered tool kit that was just sold on ebay went for ....................................................................................................US $1,282.57!!

There were perhaps only 4-5 pieces that were original, the lug wrench, spark plug wrench, and the two open end wrenches. Missing a few of the open ended type..

The nutdriver was not original. The "mini-screwdriver" kit with interchangeable bits "I don't think" is original. At least in the one virgin set from #716 referenced above didn't have it, nor does the set that Jay posted in the pic above......

To boot, the leather straps on the tool bag were torn off as well!!!

Wow wow wow!!!

Ciao!
Steve
