Wasn't me, although I was watching that auction. It has a new tire on it, which I noticed was Pirelli brand, and got me thinking...
I think that the American-spec cars originally had Dunlop tires, and the European versions had Pirellis. Is this correct? Anyone know the model name of the Pirellis for the Euro cars?
I was very interested in the design of that wheel - the ribs were 'taller' than normal, anyone actually seen those on a Goose? Thought it looked great, maybe hard to match!
Most Mangusta wheels were magnesium Campagnolos while some were actual aluminum Campys, and I don't know how to tell them apart. In your hands, the weights would be quite different. Maybe the ribs are also different? Anyone have both kinds available fo a photo?
In my pursuit for wheels I ended up with one aluminum wheel and 5 magnesium. The alloy wheel was cast smoother by far and weighed quite a bit more, but looked identical....this one on ebay was definitely 'different', the 'raised ribs' are different on this one.
I would have liked to get them so I could send them to Koni and that way the car is not down (sans shocks for 8-10 weeks). If that was your intent please advise, I would like to do same.
I gave a bid of $300.00 for the shocks, but was over bid in the last few seconds. I did not bid that high because I only wanted one front shock. One of my front shocks was lost in transit last year when I sent all four to Koni to be rebuilt. I now have a set of aftermarket shocks from Wilkinson Pantera on the front, but would like to find another Koni front to be able to have Koni's at all four corners. I am sure one will turn up eventually.

Fellow Mangusta owners, I have contacted Koni for replacement shocks; 1- There are no new Koni’s available for Mangustas so they need to rebuild the originals. Unless you require a change of valving they would build them to the factory settings, 2-The overhaul service charge is $125.00 per shock plus parts. $30.00 to $65.00 approx per shock dependant on condition not including eye bushings. The bushings if needed are $35.00 each. 3.-The turnaround time is 2-3 weeks.
Yes, that is what I paid. However, when they saw my shocks, they told me they did not have the correct bushings. So I still have the originals in my shocks.
