...I thought a few of you may find this interesting. I had these Spinners for a few months waiting for me to find the time to machine the adapters in my garage shop. They are the Best made. Solid! You look at the cheap ones, and the backs are hollow and thin. These are made by 'American Racing'. The machining was accurate to the .001" and the fit is absolute. The Internal shoulder keeps the threaded bung in place and it is 'Lock-Tighted' inthumbnail [19)thumbnail [18)thumbnail [1)thumbnail [20)thumbnail [21)thumbnail [22). The entire assembly presses in from the rear and can not ride out by Vibration. Enjoy the photos. MJ

Thank You.

The first photo is a test fit, BACKWARDS of the Large End Diameter. The threaded part is turned around to seat up to the Internal Shoulder, shown in the next pictures. These pieces are polished to a Interference fit.

The Threaded piece comes with the spinner. They can be found on Ebay. These are designed to install onto 'American Racing' Turbo Thrust Mags. The Threaded piece installs in the adaptor from the Backside and butts up-to the Internal shoulder, and with Lock-Tite. Two Parts can be seen still clamped in the Chuck. THAT assembly is pressed into the Mag, From the Rear to prevent it from coming out. This project took quite a few hours, over two days. All the exact measurements, tool sharpening, positioning, focus of Multiple cuts. I've sometimes been quoted..."You can't Rush Precision". NO Errors.

Just a little bit of 'Flash' on the 'Highway of Broken Dreams'.

... I just finished Machining the Front Spinner Mounts. Starting with Billet Aluminum, these were far more Involved, Timethumbnail [31)thumbnail [32)test3TEST 2TEST 10ac65bbe-3028-4a8e-9163-17456151a3ec-245431_Misc_9d73824e-0019-4482-9f51-7c68e728e4eb. When I get Her out on the street, soon, I can take full length Pictures. I don't wish to make this Kat a 'Cobra', but I can install the Same Best Quality AR Spinners.

...Just got back, Driving, before it is Now Raining. Put some freeway miles on Her. She Turned Over 65,000 miles a couple weeks ago. These are the Final Pictures of the Spinners. I am very Happy how they turned out. They are Running True and Balanced. NO noticeable Vibrations,

...let's see, where to begin.

The Sunroof (and Wing) were both Already Installed on this Pantera, when I purchased her back in 2001. I believe the Sunroof was installed by the Factory, for gifting the car to Kjell Qvale. Because the installation of the roof is way beyond the work of a 'mediocre' Shop. And, because this Pantera was sold to me, through 'Fantasy Junction' in Emeryville, CA. They bought it at the Monterey auction in 2000 for, (the reader is going to hate this) $16,000. The seller at FJ, reduced the price to $22,000. from the asking price of $24,000, because he believed the Sunroof Devalued the vehicle, And because I took responsibility to get the Machine 'Smogged'.  Yes! I was At the Right Place At the Right Time! They had the car for a short time, while their professional 'went through' the entire car, removing added wiring and refurbish the brakes. I wrote them a Check on first site, after a test drive! Bruce Insisted, before I take the car, He put it up on a Lift, and I see the underbelly, while we poked around and witness, everything as Solid!

Before the auction the car was stored in Qvales' collection in a Warehouse in San Francisco. I Do Not Believe, Qvale himself, had the Sunroof Installed. I am the second owner. I was advised, I was eligible to register the vehicle as 'Historic' (over 25 years old) where No Smog Test is required.

The Roof blends nicely with the ceiling fabric and there is a Rectangle 'void/pocket', that adds to the Headroom.

I really like it. Being able to look UP through the roof, is a great perspective, not many can enjoy. Especially at night, with stars and city lights. It is slightly tinted/mirrored. In Sunlight, I am sure to always wear a Hat!

It can be opened, supported, for ventilation and even, removed. But I don't remove it for fear of breakage. It would be Impossible to find a fitting replacement. The trim is Stainless Steel.

MJ

P.S. the Auction Estimate was $20,000-$30,000. My, how Time changes things!

At FJ, I could have bought the RED Countach 5000S, In MINT Condition, for $53,000! Not a Scratch On It!

...Qvale was also the Importer of the 'Late Model' Mangusta, before 'Something' caused that to pause/abandoned.

I just have these pictures to post. Showing how these parts are assembled. The spinner and threaded part arrive together, I only machined the Center Piece. Notice the Shoulder, as the Adaptor installs from the rear of the Wheel Hub, and can Not Come Out. Assembled, the Center of the Spinner Must be Absolutely FLUSH, Plus 0.002"-0.003" NO Concaves!! Convex Only. The Entire Machining process must be to the 0.001", but is Only as Accurate as the Wheel I.D., itself! The I.D. is 3.000" I Machine the Part to 2.9990", For a 'Slip-Fit'. Assembles with the Fingers, and a 'Stabilizing/Gluing' Agent. SOLID!!!
