That Veyron Targa must've taken a little slush out of his fund!

Naw, looking close, you'll see manufacturing plates. Just like all the Georgia tagged Porsche Panameras that were running all over Monterey.

There was a standard (roll on floor) Veryon parked in the paddock at the races, though.

Larry

The photos have some shots taken at the La Dolce Vita event. They show a very small, lightly populated event. One photo even shows all the Panteras that attended, all four. Wink

Jan, I was kind of expecting your car to be at La Dolche since it was one of the poster cars. What happened?

Mark

Na, my car was only there in photo, I didn't make it. If I had a trailer I may have gone. It is over 7 hours drive, and with these Italian Deto rust bucket, overheatin, electrical gremlin things it would be like rollin the dice at Vegas. But serious, maybe next year. We love going to Cambria getting away from crazy southern ca, so next year we will consider it.

Yeah Tony didn't get too many Pantera shots, and he loves Panteras too, but maybe there just were not that many around. His yellow Vector is killer though.

Jan,

Trailers are for boats.

Your cars all look to be in top notch condition.

Are they all show and no go? Wink

I see near-new cars dead-on-the-road all the time. Shit happens even to them.

I think you underestimate your cars' abilities to handle road trips.

Larry

I racked up 1400 miles on the '08 Fun Rally, 900 miles on the '09 fun Rally, 500 miles for this year's Monterey Weekend. On the road problems? None. Rock chips? A few. Bug splatters? A bunch. Miles of fun? Almost every one. Big Grin
Right on, Larry.

I also was amazed at the reliability and performance in all weather conditions. Even in the rain this beast is fantastic! And I never would have found that out if I hadn't been on the road in the rain!

I have no problem with taking road trips in the cat. As for shopping downtown, not so much. But show me an open highway and I'm there.

But then again, mine is a far cry from the show quality of Jan's awesome machines. Luckily, mine is white and hides the many imperfections that are a fact of life when you drive them.

But these cats were made to drive and that's where the most fun is. The first 10 years of work and almost all of my expense has been to ensure that they can handle the challenges on the road - making it pretty came much later.
Yeah I drive em too, but just try to avoid the elements, with all the aluminum and chrome suspension, engine bay etc, one small rain sprinkle on the road could mean days of cleaning things up. Plus lengthy car shows don't seem to be my thing that much any more, I am more into our local Cars & Coffee 1 & 1/2 hour events and there sure are a lot of excellent cars there. I like cruisin the coast here too, especially when you drive PCH and see the women flash the hooters for some reason when you drive by (don't tell the wife, I am innocent bystander). I know, people kid us thinking we have Italian gremlins, but there is nothing more reliable than a well restored car, better than any of that new fangled stuff out there on the streets where you can't even see the engine in some of them, or understand what all those tubes, lines and other crap is for. Plus now we have a Corgy puppy and whenever we go north, the puppy has to come...not much room for him in the front trunk Smiler. Now I buy cars for the Corgy, he would now like a Nomad so he can run around in the rear while we tool up north.
