I was trying to change the chrome bezel on my interior light switch when it all fell apart.

I have read the tech article and this refers to a 2 way switch and the springs go in the central holes.
Can anyone tell me which spring holes are used in this instance please and the direction of the slider?

For info, I could not repair the switch with the springs in the shown configuration.

the springs when fitted in the central holes was the way to go, not easy but achievable.

I see not many folk have done this sort of fix, you really have to be a pauper to buy the $12 dollar chrome bezel from Hall which is a good price, then weep at the cost of Postage at $32, then the UK revenue robber tax boys want another $25 to allow you to receive it.

But job done.
Great job. I have not done this fix myself but it's on my to do list. My switches work fine but the chromed plastic on two of them are beginning to crack and peel. I will probably do all four as well as two spares I have that's also peeled and cracked. The price of new switches make refurbishing my existing ones a worthwhile endeavor.
If you only need to replace the chrome bezel, read the tech article fully.

there are 2 ways to do it.
one by just changing the chrome bezel (and keep the switch itself in position)

or two by pulling the contacts out of the switch, this makes you a candidate for your local lunatic asylum trying to get them back in position.

Changing just the bezel is simple really, I wish I had done that!
